Product Overview

KLOZUR® SP is a highly soluble, easy-to-use, environmental grade sodium persulfate. Over the past decade, KLOZUR® SP has established a long track record of success and provides an unmatched combination of oxidative power and control that can be delivered both safely and cost effectively.

KLOZUR® SP is well suited for:

  • Source areas
  • Highly contaminated soils
  • Recalcitrant compounds

KLOZUR®® SP is the oxidant of choice for in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO)*, because of its ability to treat a wide range of contaminants including chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons and PAHs. When properly activated, KLOZUR® SP provides an unmatched combination of oxidative power and control that can be delivered both safely and cost effectively.

Successful field applications of KLOZUR® SP have been performed globally. These applications demonstrate the ability of KLOZUR® activated persulfate to treat diverse organic contaminants of concern including: chlorinated ethenes, chlorinated ethanes, chlorinated methanes, BTEX, MTBE, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, petroleum hydrocarbons, 1,4-dioxane and pesticides.

An extended release, environmental grade potassium persulfate, KLOZUR® KP has the same oxidative power of sodium persulfate, but a much lower solubility - giving it the capability to sustain a low concentration of persulfate in the subsurface.

 KLOZUR® KP is well suited for:

  • Permeable reactive barriers (PRBs)
  • Low permeable solids
  • Recalcitrant compounds

KLOZUR® KP is an extended release in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) reagent based upon an environmental grade potassium persulfate.

The low solubility and extended release of KLOZUR® KP can be utilized for a number of applications not traditionally thought of for chemical oxidation including permeable reactive barriers (PRBs), treatment of lower permeable soils, and contaminated groundwater plumes.

A blend of KLOZUR® SP and Permeox® Ultra engineered calcium peroxide. This product provides a combined remedy of alkaline activated persulfate and bioremediation in a single application. In addition, KLOZUR® CR is self-activating; meaning no mixing of chemicals is needed.

KLOZUR® CR is well suited for:

  • Low to moderate levels of contamination
  • Source zones
  • Down-gradient plumes

KLOZUR® CR is a single, formulated product consisting of alkaline activated KLOZUR® SP and PermeOx® Ultra engineered calcium peroxide, uniting the strengths of both products to treat contaminant source zones and down-gradient plumes.

KLOZUR® CR is formulated to provide a self-activated persulfate oxidation system which couples chemical oxidation with aerobic and anaerobic bioremediation processes that can last up to one year after application. 

KLOZUR® CR can be utilized as a combined remedy for the treatment of BTEX, MTBE, PAHs and petroleum hydrocarbons, or as an alkaline activated persulfate system for the destruction of chlorinated solvents and pesticides. As a result, the product can be readily applied to either source areas or plumes with mixed petroleum and chlorinated solvents contamination.

An all-in-one product containing KLOZUR® SP and carefully selected activator reagents, KLOZUR® One can be completely dissolved and prepared using a single injection system. KLOZUR® One simplifies and increases the convenience of delivering KLOZUR® activated persulfate in field applications.

KLOZUR® One is well suited for:

  • Most common contaminants of concern
  • Source areas and plume

This fully soluble product can be prepared using a single injection system to treat highly contaminated source areas or plumes. KLOZUR® One builds upon the successful history of KLOZUR® SP by delivering activated persulfate chemistry more conveniently than ever before.

KLOZUR® One will simplify and increase the convenience of delivering KLOZUR® activated persulfate in field applications. The chemistry of KLOZUR® One has been tested to show effective treat many common COCs while having the necessary stability to be stored, batched, handled and transported with the same hazard classification as KLOZUR® SP. 

In situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) is the introduction of an oxidant into the subsurface for the purpose of oxidizing contaminants in soil and groundwater. ISCO is ideal for the elimination of contaminant concentrations in source zones and hot spots.

Evonik’s laboratory created the Klozur® Field Test Kit, to provide a quick and reliable measurement of persulfate in the field.

There are two different kits available, depending on the activation method used. Each kit is capable of running ten tests and has a measurement range of 1g/L to 100g/L, with a theoretical accuracy of ±1g/L and ±2g/L respectively.
