10-13 June 2025 in Bordeaux
Groundwater Quality
The Groundwater Quality is organized by the Polytechnic Institute of Bordeaux and covers everything related to the quality of groundwater and the pollutants that can occur in it. It addresses interactions between groundwater and surface water, remediation strategies from the laboratory to on-site application, emerging contaminants, microplastics and multidisciplinary approaches to maintaining groundwater quality.
Groundwater pollution and contaminated soil are a risk on people and the environment, which is why the treatment of contaminated sites and remediation is regulated by law.
Our soil and groundwater remediation team offers you remediation concepts and products for treating a wide range of contaminants in groundwater, wastewater and soil. We use both proven and innovative remediation approaches, such as the modern in situ process, which is suitable for both organic and inorganic pollutants. In situ remediation is economical and conserves resources because the remediation takes place directly at the site of the contamination.
Our portfolio includes products such as GEOFORM®, which promotes biogeochemical reactions, specialized METAFIX® Reagents for heavy metal treatment and EHC® for in situ chemical reduction.
Visit us at our booth and let us develop the appropriate remediation concept for contaminated sites at your location. We develop our remediation strategies in state-of-the-art environmental laboratories, conduct various studies and also support you in planning the measures on site.

Biogeochemical remediation
GEOFORM® biochemical reagents provide the building blocks needed to promote in situ biogeochemical reactions. The product is particularly suitable for the treatment of groundwater and saturated soils contaminated with metals or persistent halogenated compounds.
How GEOFORM® works
GEOFORM® rapidly creates reducing (reductive) conditions by promoting both biotic and abiotic reductive mechanisms. The organic carbon serves as an electron donor for dechlorinating bacteria, stimulating biological reductive dechlorination. Under sulfate-reducing conditions, the formation of reactive iron sulfide minerals creates a larger surface area for abiotic dehalogenation reactions. GEOFORM® Extended Release also promotes direct chemical reduction upon contact with ZVI.
Key Benefits
- Treats mixed plumes with CVOCs and heavy metals
- Multiple mechanisms for contaminant degradation
- Enhanced dispersibility / reactive surface
Metals Treatment
METAFIX® offers a unique treatment approach for groundwater, soils, sediments and industrial waste contaminated with heavy metals such as chromium, lead, arsenic, and mercury. . METAFIX® Reagents can be used even under the most difficult site conditions for the removal of heterogeneous heavy metal concentrations and chlorinated solvents.
How METAFIX® works
After the introduction of METAFIX® Reagents into the treatment zone, a series of physical and chemical processes create geochemical conditions under which common heavy metals are reduced, adsorbed, precipitated and converted into stable sulfide and iron sulfide precipitates.
The product is applied by direct push injection, mixing with the soil or hydraulic and pneumatic fracturing.
Key Benefits
- Capability of treating comingled plumes
- Low overall treatment costs
- Does not rely on alkalinity to remove metals
